Emergency Assistance

Tail Wagger’s has established a name for itself in the community by
Helping People Help Animals. What does this mean?
Tail Wagger’s has established the Emergency Assistance Program –
Jean’s Dream – which provides financial assistance to families who are in need when a their
pet is in a crisis. Our goal is to work with families to off-set some of their medical costs
or pay for services so that euthanasia can be avoided.
More times than not, euthanasia occurs because there isn’t "insurance"
for animals, qualifying for Care Credit is not an option and payment programs are
non-existant. Pet owners should NEVER be put in this situation and Tail Wagger's can
help!
All requests for Emergency Assistance are reviewed on a case-by-case
basis and communication with the providing veterinarian is necessary. Decisions are made
based on (most importantly) quality of life for the animal, funding, and the owners' ability
to continue follow-up care. At times, a referral to a Tail Wagger’s supporting
veterinarian is recommended for a second opinion.
All pet owners MUST agree to spaying/neutering (upon doctor
good-health approval) prior to services being provided by Tail Wagger’s.
The Emergency Assistance Program is the MOST IMPORTANT program and
FUNDING is necessary for it to survive. Emergency assistance can ONLY be given if FUNDING is
available. Emergency assistance normally cost more than just a routine appointment so
ANY donations made on behalf of this program are appreciated!
